The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that children get their first dose of the hepatitis A vaccine between ages twelve and twenty-three months. The second dose should be given six to eighteen months after the first dose was given.
